To say I was literally desperate to get my hands on the new NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation was an understatement! I am a huge fan of NARS in general, especially their radiant creamy concealer, sheer glow foundation and their orgasm blush, that have been holy grail staples within my makeup collection for years.

So, when I saw they came out with a new foundation that claimed its their first 16 hour wear foundation, lightweight and radiant, high coverage and it wears longer, stays stronger and looks better with each hour I thought I have to run to my nearest Space NK and snap this up NOW!!!

What NARS says about this foundation…

Putting this foundation to the test…

Normally I am the shade Santa Fe (medium with peach undertones) in the sheer glow. Although this is slightly darker than my natural skintone, it does works really well in providing a bit of a colour boost, which I am a massive fan of on my fair complexion. I didnt notice a variation in colours between the two foundations, so right off the bat I knew I would be happy with my colour choice.  I am fair skin toned but I do throw off a lot of peach undertones in my skin so this colour worked perfectly in neutrilising this . I also have to hand it to NARS for their wide spectrum of colour choices for this foundation, its nice to see that they have 33 different colours making it a great choice for all skintones and undertones

When it came to applying this foundation my tool of choice would always be a beauty blender… or a real techniques sponge in this case. The consistency of this foundation is so thin and lightweight and on first application I was stunned to see just how full coverage this foundation actually is. Personally, I love a full coverage, flawless look to my skin and I can see how natural this foundation could be using less product and building it up to achieve your desired look.

This foundation blended evenly and effortlessly into my skin and with one pump it covered pretty much all of my blemishes on one side of my face and left a beautiful flawless and radiant finish. In comparison to the sheer glow, its double the amount of coverage and radiance… WINNER!

Now for the disappointing bit…

My skin type is a bit ‘up in the air’ at the moment, I can blame post-pregnancy hormones for that! I tend to have an oily T-Zone and dry cheeks so this foundation should work fine for me being combination. I was disappointed to find that a few hours after wearing this foundation I was getting quite oily, especially around my nose and chin and I had to blot quite a few times through the day. I also noticed that my foundation started separating around my nose, so I did have to keep touching that up through the course of the day too.

Is it worth it?

In summary, would I recommend this foundation? Yes! if youre more of a dry skin type I think this foundation would work for you but if you oily/combination like me then be prepared to keep blotting/touching up throughout the day. The formula is undenyabely beautiful how it blends into the skin and giving the most gorgeous, flawless and luminous look and for that I love.

I think for a foundation that claims it was long wearing for up to 16 hours and for the price point (£35) I did expect more.
